Want to get to know the 2019 Toyota Avalon? The first thing to know: it's all new. Despite being the top-selling large sedan, Toyota presents a ground-up redesign for 2019, while keeping all the characteristics that make the Avalon a top-seller: quiet, comfortable ride quality, impeccable workmanship and one of the most intuitive, but advanced, interior cabins on the market. Read on to learn more about one of the best new cars of the year.

The 2019 Toyota Avalon will be available in XLE and XSE trim levels, and more luxurious Limited and Touring levels. In addition, a Hybrid model available at every trim with the exception of Touring. The XLE and XLE Hybrid sedans have an MSRP of $35,500 ($36,500 Hybrid), with MPG of 22/32 (43/44 Hybrid). The 2019 Toyota Avalon XLE will be powered by a 3.5liter V6, with an 8-speed automatic transmission, while the XLE Hybrid moves with Toyota's ECVT Hybrid drivetrain, supplemented by a 2.5liter 4-cylinder gas engine. At XLE trim, driver and passengers enjoy a standard 9inch touchscreen with Toyota Connected Services' Entune 3.0 system, compatible with Apple CarPlay, which features Sirius satellite radio and a Verizon-powered wifi hotspot (each subject to subscription past a trial period).

The 2019 Toyota Avalon XSE and XSE Hybrid's MSRP starts at $38,000 ($39,000 Hybrid) with MPG of 22/31 (43/43 for Hybrid). Visible upgrades on the outside of the XSE trim include 19-inch black-painted, machined-finish alloy wheels, smoked-chrome bezels around the LED reflector headlights, piano-black exterior accents, as well as a spoiler. Inside, there are genuine aluminum interior accents, including pedal covers, as well as paddle shifters, and optional Entune 3.0 with the addition of JBL Clari-fi premium audio.

The 2019 Toyota Avalon Touring's MSRP starts at $42,200. It carries the same 3.5 liter V6 as the gas-powered XLE and XSE trims, with MPG of 22/31. Performance-wise, the Touring trim features a 4-mode performance switch (Eco, Normal/Custom, Sport and Sport+), as well as Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS). On the outside, Touring buyers gain direct LED headlights, LED taillights in a laser-ablated design and a sport-tuned exhaust. Inside, enjoy an upgraded, 14-speaker audio system with subwoofer and 1200W amplifier; and of course, a heated, leather-wrapped steering wheel. At the Touring trim, buyers have the option for the Advanced Safety Package, with features a Bird's Eye View Camera with Perimeter Scan, Intelligent Clearance Sonar (ICS) and Rear Cross-Traffic Braking (RCTB).

The 2019 Toyota Avalon Limited and Hybrid Limited's MSRP starts at $41,800 ($42,800 Hybrid). Engines and MPG are identical as for XLE / XSE and related Hybrids. What Limited buyers gain on the outside are distinctive 18-inch SuperChrome wheels and a dual exhaust with chrome tips. Inside, aluminum interior accents from the lower models are replaced with genuine wood, all seating is trimmed in leather and both front seats are 8-way power-adjustable, with 4-way lumbar support.

For all trims, drivers and passengers of the 2019 Toyota Avalon will enjoy distinctive touches like the Avalon's unique noise-reducing windshield. Perhaps more importantly, all Avalons also come with the Toyota's wide selection of standard safety features, including Enhanced Vehicle Stability Control (VSC), Traction Control (TRAC), 4-wheel Anti-lock Brake System (ABS), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD), Brake Assist (BA) and Smart Stop Technology (SST). Make the 2019 Toyota Avalon's combination of striking design, technology, performance and comfort yours: this fall, an Avalon can be leased at $399/month, and purchased at competitive APR's, as low as 3.9%.
