The choice Civic offers a number of advantages over other commuter vehicles when it comes to performance. With a 158-horsepower, 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, you’ll have ample power for smooth freeway driving or tackling steep hills around town. A turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine provides up to 180 horsepower and fares even better. If you are looking for something a little sportier though, the Civic SI features a 200-horsepower four-cylinder. Get up to 306 horsepower with the Type R trim. For the most fuel-efficient option, the 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine paired with a CVT transmission in EX trims will give you up to 32 mpg in the city and 42 mpg on the highway – fuel economy estimates comparable to some hybrid models. Overall, no matter which trim you choose, you can expect a smooth ride with controlled handling that makes the Civic a pure joy to drive.

The interior certainly doesn’t disappoint either. Seating up to five passengers on cloth upholstery, the Civic offers plenty of legroom for passengers in both the front and back. If you want real leather seats, they are available along with heating and ventilation. In the cargo area, you’ll get up to 15 cubic feet of space with the sedan model, which is great for its class. But when you get the hatchback model, you’ll get up to 25.7 cubic feet of space behind the rear seats or up to 46.2 cubic feet of space with the seats folded down. This means plenty of room for your monthly haul of groceries, or for all those shopping bags after doing damage at the mall.

If it’s features you want, the Civic has them. Featuring a standard 5-inch display screen, a USB port, a rearview camera, Bluetooth and a stereo system, you’ll get all the essential modern features you could want. But you’ll also have the option for so much more. Available features offered by the 2018 Honda Civic include smartphone integration, additional USB ports, an upgraded audio system, a 7-inch touchscreen, dual-zone climate control, navigation and even a moonroof. There’s also the optional Honda Sensing system that includes lane departure warning, adaptive cruise control, forward collision warning and more.
